California Code of Regulations: Research Using Agency Websites

State of California

Research Using Agency Websites

State agency websites are a good source of information about that agency's existing and proposed regulations. Most agency websites include links to the laws and regulations enforced by that agency. Look for links on the websites with titles such as: "The Law." "Laws and Regulations." and "Legal Info."

Agency websites often include information about the agency's ongoing rulemaking activity, and provide information about how to submit public comment about proposed regulations. Look for links with titles such as "Rulemaking" and "Proposed Regulations." Additionally, some agencies allow you to submit your email address to receive news updates about the agency; agency meeting notices; and information about proposed, adopted, amended, and repealed regulations. To sign up for agency news updates, look for links such as "Contact Us" or "Subscribe to Our Mailing List."
