Discussion

Misdemeanor and infraction convictions are typically first appealed to the Appellate Division of the Superior Court, not directly to the California Court of Appeal. These appeals are governed by California Rules of Court 8.850 - 8.855 and 8.900 - 8.904.

You will want to do research to identify the grounds upon which you can base your appeal. The Library has resources to help you, and the Librarians can assist you with locating them in print or electronic format.
