Introduction

This is an introduction only to the Case Management process. It is not intended to be a comprehensive resource. Additional research may be necessary. If you require further assistance, please consult a reference librarian.

Overview of Case Management

Welcome to our guide on Case Management. Civil court filings are governed by California Rule of Court 3.700, et seq. The purpose of the case management process is to move cases along to resolution by setting deadlines for discovery, and exploring the possibility of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) or settlement.

The Case Management process consists of:

  • Notice of Case Assignment and Case Management Conference
  • Case Management Conference
  • Case Management Statement
  • Case Management Order

Each step will be discussed under the "Case Management Process" tab.
