Tax Clinics

The following clinics can provide County residents with assistance and guidance for state and federal taxes:

Legal Aid Society of San Diego (Federal only) – LASSD hosts federal tax clinics here at the Law Library on the last Wednesday of each month, from 2:00 - 4:00 P.M., on a first-come, first-serve basis. Call 1-877-LEGAL-AID for more information.

University of San Diego (State and federal) – The USD Law School offers clinics for low income individuals in disputes with the IRS or California Franchise Tax Board. Call 1-619-260-7470 for more information.

AARP (State and federal) – AARP has free clinics all over the County to help low to moderate income residents. Clinics are geared toward older individuals but they will help everyone. To find an AARP Tax-Aide Site near you, use this locator tool or call 888-227-7669.

VITA or Voluntary Income Tax Assistance (State and federal) – Many community non-profit organizations offer free tax preparation help through the VITA program for low to moderate income residents for simple returns. To find your nearest VITA site, use this locator tool or call 800-906-9887.
