California Power of Attorney Law is set out in California Probate Code secs. 4000-4545. These sections of the code explain the rights and responsibilities of both the principal and the agent. They also contain a statutory form in Probate Code s. 4401, however this form is NOT available in the online version of the code, but are available in our online databases, like Westlaw or LexisAdvance, and a PDF version is linked on the Financial POA page of this guide.

California Probate Code Division 4.7 contains the Uniform Health Care Decisions Act and explains the laws about POAs for healthcare. Section 4701 contains an advanced health care directive form that is available in the online version and on the Health Care POA page of this guide.
